Date: Wed, 4 Jun 1997 12:05:02 -0400 To: pippin@cybercom.net From: Ron Newman Subject: Web forwarding - corrections needed please Cc: John_Maconga@pscboston.com Message-Id: In the letter that we both signed yesterday, we agreed that "web forwarding" would be arranged so that any attempt to access *any* URL beginning with http://www.cybercom.net/~rnewman/scientology/ would reach a page directing the user to the new location of my "Scientology vs. the Net" web site, and that any attempt to access *any* other URL beginning with http://www.cybercom.net/~rnewman/ would reach a page directing the user to the new location of my home page. This has not yet been fully implemented. If a user goes to the *exact* URLs given above, she will reach the forwarding page, but if she types in any other URL that begins with these strings, she will reach a "404 Not Found" error. For instance, http://www.cybercom.net/~rnewman/scientology/home.html http://www.cybercom.net/~rnewman/scientology/media/home.html http://www.cybercom.net/~rnewman/home.html and any other such URLs will all get the "404 Not Found" error. This is not acceptable, because there were hundreds of web pages on my site, and thousands of links to them from other pages throughout the world. It is essential that *all* of these URLs now resolve to one of the two "forwarding pages" that we agreed to. In addition, if you go to http://www.cybercom.net/~rnewman/ , you will see an incorrect URL on the page that Cybercom is serving. It should say http://www.thecia.net/users/rnewman/ but instead it says http://www.theciaa.net/users/rnewman / ^^^^ ^^ Please correct both of these problems as soon as possible, and notify both me and John_Maconga@pscboston.com when you have done so. We cannot dismiss the complaint that was filed against you in Middlesex Superior Court on Friday, May 23 until Web forwarding is fully implemented as stated in paragraph 2 of our June 3rd agreement. The Court could enter a default judgment against you if the complaint remains on file and you have not replied to within the time required by the Court. I hope to hear from you soon.
